How to fix 0x80070005 error?

The most frequent causes of causing the error 0x80070005 is :Windows Update not being configured correctly

Something happened and this app couldn’t be installed. Please try again. Error code: 0x80070005

Method 1

Step 1. Press the Windows + R key to open the Run dialog box.
Step 2. In the Run dialog box, type C: \ Users \ <username> \ AppData \ Local,  replace USERNAME with the username of the account you’re logged in. Click OK.

Step 3. In the Local folder, scroll down to find the Packages folder and right-click on it and select Properties.

Step 4. Go to the Security tab,Click “Edit -> Add”.
Step 5. Type “Everyone”, Click “Check names -> Ok -> Full control”.
Step 6. Click OK to save the changes.
Step 7. Restart your computer to finish.

Method 2

Enable Windows Update automatically

Step 1. Press Windows key or click Start
Step 2. Type Windows Update in search box
Step 3. Go to Windows update seting
Step 4. Click Change Settings
Step 5. Select Install updates automatically (recommended) at the Important Updates section, set a schedule when the updates are going to be installed
Step 6. Click OK

Even if you configure Windows to automatically update, error 0x80070005 may still appear if you enable the firewall.

Step 1. Press Windows key or click Start
Step 2. Type Windows Firewall in the search box
Step 3. Select Windows Firewall from the search results list (or go to Control Panel => Windows Firewall)
Step 4. Choose Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall from the left side
Step 5. Click Allow another program
Step 6. Click Browse
Step 7. Look for the svchost.exe file
Step 8. Click Open and then click Add
Step 9. A new program called Host Process for Windows Services should be in your list. Click OK to finished

If your computer is infected with a virus or malware, it could also be the cause of the error 0x80070005.
